(MSG) Indeed – Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God – and Blesses all who we get in contact with – believer and nonbeliever alike. There is an undeniable beauty and pleasant aroma of LIFE, LOVE and FAITH that permeates the person, lives and homes of believers. It fills their days with hope and joy and infuses their speech with grace and wisdom. Yes – it thoroughly blesses anyone and everyone who are fortunate and blessed to be in contact, in conversation, and better yet, in fellowship with them. Yesterday, I was fortunate to be in the presence of greatness, blessed beyond words, totally aware of God’s beauty and Christ’s pleasant aroma when we visited my Dad’s Aunt, Henriëtte Venter. At first sight of her, standing at the gate welcoming us to her home, I immediately sensed the undeniable beauty and pleasant aroma of LIFE, LOVE and FAITH that permeates the air around her, shines through her eyes, and graced her wise and gentle words. Overwhelmed, deeply touched, and blessed beyond words was I, when God’s word just flowed freely from her lips. Life, love, and faith filled the living room as she shared with us the joys and sorrows of her simple yet profound life. Her father was a student under a world renowned spiritual giant – the precious and humble Andrew Murray (1828-1917). I haven’t seen her for more than ten years, but the moment we were together it was as if we were never apart. That my friend is the life of Christ we as believers share. Hallelujah! Glory to God! We are so blessed to be Christians! Blessed Indeed! Thank You Jesus! Anyways, after ten years, without knowing what God has been doing in my life lately, she looked straight at me and said, “Hendri, this is what I want to say to you…” Throughout our short but wonderful visit with her, she confirmed two major works of God in my life, and shared and confirmed in an ever gentle way, and in precise detail the awesomeness of God’s will and plan for me for now. Driven to tears by the depth and precision of God’s word to me through her, completely overwhelmed me with deep appreciation for the true and precious pearls of great price which she shared with us. God is awesome, and He knows who, where, why, when, and how we are, and every detail of our part in His awesome plan for His glorious Kingdom. Hallelujah! It’s truly awesome to be one of and be in fellowship with God’s precious people. Hallelujah! Indeed – Faith is the heart of the believer is an aroma pleasing to the LORD. Likewise Love. Under the Old Covenant in the Old Testament we read numerous times how regular burnt offerings were instituted as a pleasing aroma, an offering presented to the LORD – As an aroma pleasing to the LORD (Num. 28, 29 etc.) Under the New & Better Covenant, in the New Testament we also read of a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. (Philippians 4:18; Ephesians 5:2) The Truth is, we as believers are admonished, and urged by the precious Holy Spirit through the life-changing Word of God – To become a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Live in love as Christ also loved us. He gave his life for us as an offering and sacrifice, a soothing aroma to God. 在生活上顯出對別人的愛，好像基督那樣－他愛我們，為我們的緣故，把自己的生命交出來，當做馨香的供物和祭品，獻給上帝。(CUV-T) 也要憑愛心行事，正如基督愛我們，為我們捨了自己，當作馨香的供物和祭物，獻與神。Wandel in liefde, soos Christus ons ook liefgehad het en Hom vir ons oorgegee het as ‘n gawe en offer aan God tot ‘n lieflike geur. Ephesians 5:2 (NLT) (GW) (JMSJ-T) (CUV-T) (AOV) A sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God – Hebrews 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please God. Therefore love and faith in the heart of the believer, faith in action, faith expressed and lived out in love – becomes that sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God! Let’s Pray, “Precious LORD Jesus, your LIFE, LOVE, and FAITH in us are indeed our hearts desire. For we live every minute of every day to bring pleasure to our Glorious Gracious God and Father, to become and continue to be a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing at all times.
