For what its worth I thought i would give my 2 pennies worth on - TopicsExpress

For what its worth I thought i would give my 2 pennies worth on the independence debate. I initially started in the no camp, but recently I have moved on top of the fence. I started as a no because I am inherently nervous of change. I like to think of the world coming together, not separating. There is enough devision in the world already. However this is the reason I have altered my view: SNP have laid down their arguement in a coherent and positive manner. They are looking forward to what might be achieved by an independent Scotland. They are doing this well because they are working hard at what they truely believe in. The 3 main parties in Westminster sound like a bunch of green eyed 8 year olds. There arguement so far has been Well if you go over and play by yourself, then you cant be in our gang. Instead of embracing this as an opportunity to better the country as a whole, all they can muster in responce is to slag off SNP and their ideas, instead of coming up with their own ones. That is the main problem with our country today. All Labour, Conservatives and Lib Dems do is say how bad the other ones are, instead of coming forward with new, exciting ideas that would help the country develop. Why do they do this? - because they dont have to try. Why dont they have to try?- because of the apathy of our nation. I dont blame people who dont vote, why should they. It makes very little difference when it is only 30% of the country who decide which party gets in. Both side of the arguement have still to win me over. So here is a positive and forward thinking idea. Instead of belittling the other side, why not take the initiative and try to come up with better ideas than them. While you are at it, make it illegal NOT to vote for your countries government. Then we will begin to see the parties working and using their well educated brains in a more positive manner. We would see initatives that would have an effect on EVERYBODY. We are after all a democracy and should all have a say. I am a positive person and dont like it when people complain without coming up with a solution. So I say to both sides, the score is 0-0. Now is the time to start scoring goals.
