For years, I paid no attention to boxed wines--if I thought of - TopicsExpress

For years, I paid no attention to boxed wines--if I thought of them at all, I thought of Franzia. If I went to a party where it was being served, I drank it rather than go dry, and then left privately marking the host as a cheapskate. Then, a year ago, a fellow tech writer and fellow history buff started raving about boxed wines and what great values they were--worthy, he said, of what Thomas Jefferson might have cultivated and bottled. Well that may be going too far, I dunno, but I asked what he had in mind. He said something that sounded like Botox and Jack Tone. Jack Tone simply isnt carried by any Memphis wine and liquor distributors--I have that straight from Busters, who called on my behalf--but the other label, Bota Box, is available in several stores. For about $21.95, plus tax, you get a 3-litre container, which should last you 2 weeks, though it only lasts me 10 days. I have enjoyed a glass of red wine, usually Shiraz, with my dinner for years, and Bota Boxs Shiraz is as good as any Ive ever had.
