For your glory lord Born again Giving my life to Jesus in 1980 at - TopicsExpress

For your glory lord Born again Giving my life to Jesus in 1980 at a little wooden church hall in Noosa, Queensland, was not a difficult decision. I had already been saved in 1964 in another little church in Coburg, Victoria where I lived during my school years. That little church in Coburg still has a large banner which says “Life begins with Jesus”. Its lawn is not mowed, but it is still standing as a monument to Jesus. The last time I passed by, it had a relevant message on the board saying “Send God a knee mail.” The church sits on a busy road called Bell St and is next to a railway crossing which operates a boom gate. It is right opposite KFC. I went to church regularly and remember our Minister who was from Wales. I heard him talking about where did I want to spend eternity and if I gave my life to Jesus I would have eternal life. I remember sitting in church, and admiring other teenagers in their “cool” teenage clothes and asking Jesus into my heart. One of the youths had a pastel mauve mohair jumper. I got given a copy of my salvation on a card which I put into my bible. I was asked to read the bible message on Sundays and it was a real joy to be up on the platform reading from the word of God. As a boy in Ireland we were part of a Sunday school. It was run by the Brethren church. I still recall sitting in Sunday school holding hands and someone was connected to a battery. Of course we all got a sort of electric shock. I think that this really happened. I also have memories of the large octagon shaped three penny piece which was given to me when I remembered a scripture verse.
