Its fair to say LordOfTheStreaks year ended on a high and this year started on a high all thanks to the kind of crazy that I do and fabulous friends with parkrun thrown in also! Runstreak day 2922 New Years Eve saw me hit 8years of my runstreak thats running everyday since January 1st 2007 to celebrate I decided to run 8miles well 8.03 to be precise to bring my 2014 total to . . .yes youve guessed it 2014 miles precisely. However, instead of plodding around alone an invite was sent out for company to help me celebrate and I was joined by a group of fabulous friends a sociable event with fun & frolics along Durham river banks Houghall Woods with THAT athletics track sandwiched inbetween and terminating with the sound of popping cork as champagne was poured and shared amongst the lads n lasses with glasses raised in celebration my final 2014 run high! Runstreak day 2923 New Years Day start of year 9 of runstreak and it was an early start and a trip down the A19 to Middlesbrough for a double helping of parkrun, first up Stewart Park parkrun a decent turnout once again amongst very good friends and a decent performance completing the 2 lap 5k course in 22:10 position 38th I believe. No time to hang around it was off to nearby Albert Park for their parkrun and at 10:30am an even bigger field set off, who would have thought so many runners would tackle 5k on a New Years Day morning many doubling up like myself such is the power of parkrun. Another pleasing performance from LOTS hows this for consistency my time 22:20 my finisg token showing positon 0070 and all done yet again in the company of likeminded decent folk, fabulous friends. Hope the snaps capture the feeling and fun enjoyed? First run highs of 2015 tucked away nicely on the runstreak log and spreadsheet but more importantly in the memory bank.
