For your weekend reading - 1) Do-it-yourselfers will now have a chance to show off their album cover art-related creativity as the result of a new relationship between music host SoundCloud and image host Instagram. Those who use SoundCloud to create mixtapes (AKA playlists) to share with their friends can now use images from their Instagram catalogs to illustrate these packages. Those of us from an earlier age will certainly remember the efforts of some of our more artistically-inclined friends to package their mixtape cassettes with some very well-done imagery (Im thinking of you, Mark K!) and, while Im not sure that every effort will be a success, Im certainly glad to see that some folks still value the connection between art and music.
