Foreign Ministry: Talking on political & constitutional legitimacy in Syria is exclusive right of the Syrians Sep 17, 2013 Damascus, (SANA) - A source at Foreign and Expatriate Ministry said that in a new assertion on the volume of their involvement in the crisis in Syria and their hectic pursuit to impose their agendas and wills on the Syrian people, the foreign ministers of the USA, France and Britain attempted to promote for their contradictory stances and harmonize between their alleged support to a political solution, their involvement in the continuation of violence and their support to Jabhat-al-Nusra- linked armed terrorist groups with the aim of prolonging the crisis in Syria. In a statement to SANA on Tuesday, the source said that the press conference of the U.S.-French-British foreign ministers in Paris yesterday divulges the reality of their objectives in Syria and their pursuit to preempt the outcomes of the dialogue among the Syrians to impose their will on the Syrian people in service of those who were used by the U.S. and its allies as tools to implement its schemes. The source added that those tools did not hesitate to instigate the USA for launching an aggression on Syria and its people. The source stressed that talking on the political and constitutional legitimacy in Syria is an exclusive right of the Syrian people and the USA and its allies must not claim to possess this right or seize it or give itself authority or mandate to impose its will on the Syrians. It underlined that President Bashar al-Assad is the legitimate President who was chosen by the Syrian people and he will remain as long as the Syrian people want him, as he exercises the powers under the Constitution approved by the Syrians, and those who do not like this fact should not go to Geneva Conference. The source clarified that Syria, in several occasions, stressed its commitment to a political solution based on dialogue between the Syrians under a Syrian leadership in a way that makes the Syrian people determine their own future. It said that Syria, today, stresses the need for any political operation will be agreed upon internationally to respect the choices of the Syrians and stay away from attempts for confiscating their will preemptively. The source concluded saying: " The responsibilities shouldered by the UN Charter on these states being permanent members in the Security Council should work frankly and seriously and respect the rights and principles included in the Charter, rather than the pursuit for imposing their will on states and working on destabilizing them through threats of aggression or resorting directly or indirectly to their local tools and agents." sana.sy/eng/21/2013/09/17/502889.htm
