Form the field- Right now, 4 urgent needs in bulk are-Dry ration, school material, water purifier tablets and Solar lamps. So far Goonj has channelised 25 trucks & 20 vans of need based material in the remote villages of Guptkashi, Uttarkashi, Joshimath, Pithoragarh, Kalsi by using various modes. With hubs in Rishikesh, Gangori (uttarkashi), Helang (Joshimath) we are able to reach to a number of villages in a very systematic manner. As people have lost the livelihood and are still cut off, the main requirement is to supply/ re-supply dry ration and as the schools are opened- take care of basic needs there.
