Former American Idol Star, Danny Gokey, to Headline 19th Annual Harvest Festival The Greater Martin County Kiwanis Club, Roy F. Collier Community Center, and Dream Martin County are pleased to announce Danny Gokey as the headline performer for the 19th Annual Harvest Festival which will be held at the Roy F. Collier Community Center in Inez, KY. BMG Recording artist and former finalist on the eighth smash season of Foxs American Idol, Danny Gokey, became a fan favorite of millions as he rose through the ranks to the Top 3 of that season. Following Idol, he soon entered the record books as the first-ever male American Idol contestant to sign with a major country label. An acclaimed singer and author, Gokey made an indelible first impression with 2010s record-breaking debut album, MY BEST DAYS with the best opening week for a debut album from a male country artist in almost two decades. He received an array of honors, including his home states WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award for Male Vocalist of the Year as well as an American Country Awards nomination as New/Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Gokeys follow up sophomore album HOPE IN FRONT OF ME released in June and debuted at No. 1 on multiple Nielsen Sound Scan Billboard Contemporary Christian music sales charts and the title single has had a four week reign at #1 on Billboard Christian National Audience Chart. Gokey is also active on many other fronts, including his role as founder of Sophias Heart. Named in honor of his late wife, the organizations goals are to provide hope and help to homeless families in Nashville, and they also operate a thriving inner-city music and arts program in Milwaukee, WI. Opened in late 2011, the 77,000 square foot Sophias Heart facility in Nashville has helped rescue over 75 families from life on the street.
