Former EastEnders star Emer Kenny has praised the expansion of her on-screen Carter family, but has confirmed that she wont be returning to the soap for the time being. The actress played Shirley Carters niece Zsa Zsa for nine months in 2010, appearing in the main show and online spinoff EastEnders: E20. Late last year, Zsa Zsas mother Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) was introduced to the BBC show as a new regular character, sparking speculation that Zsa Zsa could return. Danny Dyer was also cast as Shirley and Tinas brother Mick, who joined Albert Square with his family and took over the Queen Vic as landlord. Speaking to Digital Spy about the changes to EastEnders, Kenny commented: The Carter family is so brilliant right now - the show is in such a good way and it looks like it is only going to get better. I think I am going to go back and write for them pretty soon because I love the show and it feels like home to me. Theres a family vibe even though people come and go from the show - it still maintains that feeling. On the chances of Zsa Zsa being reintroduced, she continued: Honestly, I loved the character Zsa Zsa and I loved playing her. I left because I wanted to try different things, but I would never rule out going back because she was a strong female character. She said exactly what she wanted, did what she wanted and she was great fun to play. I dont have time to go back at the moment but I would never say never. I have an amazing family actually on the show, but I have never met any of them! Kenny wrote a number of EastEnders: E20 episodes during its three-series run and began writing for the main show in 2012. The 24-year-old currently plays Danielle Reeves in BBC Three comedy Pramface, which returns for a third series on Tuesday, February 25 at 10pm.
