Former NFL Player Kills Himself at the Age of 29 Tweet eoiweoiweiowePaul Oliver, who formerly played for the San Diego Chargers, has ended his own life. Using a gun, Oliver committed s*uicide at his home in Marietta, Georgia this week. All of this according to Mike Bowman, an officer with the Cobb County Police Department. He died at about 6:45 pm on Tuesday, according to police. Oliver played with the Chargers from 2007 – 2011. Denver Broncos cornerback Quentin Jammer told USA Today Sports that the two men were very good friends. “He was a good friend of mine. Great guy. Great guy,” Jammer told USA TODAY Sports. “I mean, the early reports were that he committed suicidε, and he just didn’t seem like that type of guy. You never know what somebody is going through, what’s going on in somebody’s life.” Oliver was chosen in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL draft and played 57 games, with 12 starts. He became a free agent in 2012. There is no word on whether his exit from football led to his unfortunate decision to end his own life. “Everyone in the Chargers family is sad today after hearing the news about Paul,” the team said in a statement. “He was part of our family for five years. At just 29 years old, he had a lifetime in front of him.”
