Former senior NSW education bureaucrat, Director General, Ken Boston who was also a member of the Gonski Review Panel gave a massive blast to the pollies, Federal and states, over education reform. Amongst other points in the following segment on ABC Radio National Breakfast on Thursday morning he said the SES funding model is irretrievably broken; Australia has the most socially segregated system in the Western world!; SES doesnt fund 40% of schools... He said there needs to be setup a Federal [negotiating] table, not a Commonwealth imposed one to thrash out - to do the hard yakka - to set up sector neutral funding. To date this essential work simply has not been done.
