Fort Rapids Water Park Opens This Thursday Hey, got fam in for Thanksgiving and want to work some of that holiday dinner off? Check this out, Fort Rapids indoor water park opens this Thanksgiving afternoon at 4:00 pm. Drag the kids down there, or visa versa! Heres what weve learned about the park and the hotel situated right next to it: You can stay at the hotel, but its an older building which sat empty for decades after it closed. Then they built the water park in an effort to revitalize the hotel, but they didnt rebuild the hotel! Oh sure, they renovated it... but what they did was put up new facing and carpeting and did little to the buildings structure at all. As a result the place is a dank and rotting hotel, people say the bar leaks and the TVs are ancient. They also say that the Chinese restaurant in the lobby is overpriced and Nasty, as one lady put it. The rooms start at $104 and its only 15 minutes from the airport. But thats just the hotel... the water park rocks! It has portions that actually go around outside of the building. Some people say that the tubes which do that are freezing cold in winter, but the slides are all under the roof and nice and warm. In winter the outside lobby is closed, and the place tends to fill up fast and deep on holidays. So what do you think? I dont know about you, but it is going to be in the mid 50s on Thursday, might not be a bad idea.
