Fort William Henry Ghost Tours Off to Lake George I had planned a partial vacation, and search for some less expensive stone. Garnet stone was quarried near this historic town in Up State New York. A trip was set, and this pursuit began. These stones were up for sale, although small, limiting my ideas for a larger sculpture. Roads being surveyed and opened allowed for excavations of tracts of land. The roads being widened were under construction during this summer s journey. Along our way we discovered many discarded blocks of fine marble. Resting along the side of a country road, mounds of blocks of many, lifting one into my cars trunk took some thought, we were successful. Destinations for tourist ghost hunters, were part of Fort William Henrys past and present history. Our tour began at dusk, cameras in tow; our guide led us to places that in the past have displayed shadows of ghosts. They had been recorded thru years of Ghost Hunting at this location. It was a wonderful day, I did feel mischievous, so a plan, that took a certain few by surprise was hatched. Our tour found a hallway deep in the forts underground. Once standing room was made comfortable, the lights were turned off. In advance I had taken a twist of dry grass, easily hidden from sight. Lights-out I did almost scratch my plan, that would have been easy, I would have been disappointed in myself Cameras light s were flashing in every direction, it was pitch black. Time to work some madness ,light hearted yet mad. There then ‘’Did you see that?’ At that exact time I did stretch my hand holding my collection of dry grass. The lightest of touch led our tour to finding what was in the minds of many, a ghost. Screaming many hurried to the sound of a woman she was directed to the movement of other tourist on site. A simple touch; a determined Ghost Hunters crew, set the crowd into a frenzy of hope. It was at that time that crowd control left the premise, having witnessed the behavior of so many in search of ghosts in that deep hallway. Sharing photos it was a certainty that our tour was successful in finding a bridge to the afterlife. Harmless, it had become calamity; the people had found their spirits. For some time I recall that event and chuckle.
