Fort bragg to eureka I get to run a boat. That means more - TopicsExpress

Fort bragg to eureka I get to run a boat. That means more responsibility than you would know. For the boat, the deckhand Rob, food, fuel, ice, fish tickets, weather, do it yourself right repairs to autopilot, electrical, etc., figuring out how to make bait pins out of 5/64 trolling wire strands and braided copper wire..... And then Christal Marie Gift had something go wrong and had to go to the ER. Advanced fallopian pregnancy. I almost lost her on the operating table while charging down the coast pushing the boat at six knots off point arena. It is a very stiff price I pay for what I do. We are travelling with two other boats to make the eureka opener on monday. I have not seen her in over a week. And not since her operation. Friends and family are taking care of her, the dogs, and the boat. I want to go home and hold her and stroke her hair. I want to see for myself that she is okay beyond a weak and drowsy voice on the other end of a scratchy cell phone connection. We left fort bragg two hours ago and are crossing the lost coast. Its where your seafood comes from. Its hard to keep a stiff upper lip sometimes. We almost had a baby. And I almost lost her. And yet here I am. Going fishing because I have to.
