Found out last night that while most CNY School Districts are providing productive alternatives to students who refuse state tests, Clinton is planning on making our children sit at their desks and stare. To me this is demeaning, unproductive and appears to be a blatant attempt to bully parents into conforming. Only Oriskany is treating its students worse by threatening to suspend any student who refuses a test. That, to me, smacks of blackmail. I will be attempting to present some alternatives to the school district. If they refuse to compromise I will sign my children out of school after they have been given the option of refusing the tests. If, for some reason, the school decides to not give me my children the police will be called. I REALLY hope it doesnt come to this. Never in a million years did I think I would have an antagonistic relationship with my childs educators or that my childs educators would be creating an atmosphere where the childs best interests arent put first. Very disappointed in CCS......
