Found out some AMAZING news today Ive been nominated alongside Sara Kay and Jenny Lewis for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Achievement in Casting for The Best Laid Plans!!!!!!! Thanks to all the WONDERFUL Ottawa actors who make my job so enjoyable and allow me to present so many choices to director and networks!! Hi Ilona, I’ve been away in Quebec the last while, and am just catching up on things... I’ve just notices the nominees and we had indeed included you in our first awards application, but the application was rejected when the Academy told us TBLP wasnt a mini-series… (!) We appealed that decision and won the appeal, so we were able to re-submit. But in the process of having to re-submit, your name was inadvertently left off the list. We’ve spoken to the Academy, and thankfully they’ve agreed that we can rectify the situation, so you will indeed be one of the three names up for Best Achievement in Casting for The Best Laid Plans, along with Sara Kay and Jenny Lewis. Please feel free to let people know that you’ve been nominated. I’m very relieved that the Academy consented. Thanks to you we had excellent supporting players throughout all the episodes, and as we both know, weak support cast can be the downfall of strong projects.
