Found this morning at a feral cat feeding station near Dufferin - TopicsExpress

Found this morning at a feral cat feeding station near Dufferin Avenue and McGregor Street in the North End: Male, tuxedo cat, approximately 1 year old, NOT neutered, with no ID. Poor kitty is EXTREMELY thin and full of fight wounds that include chunks of fur missing from his head and chest, as well as 2 swollen front paws. One paw looks like its been bitten through, and the other one seems to have had its middle claw torn off. Despite being in obvious pain, this guy is friendly and affectionate, and has been temporarily named Brady. A found report will also be made with the WHS, and owners will need to provide photos to claim. Brady was taken to the St. Norbert Animal Hospital earlier today, where his wounds were treated, and he has received medication for the infection in his paws, as well as a dewormer to take care of any potential parasites. He only weighed 7lbs (should be about 12lbs) and found to be extremely anemic, but tests showed that liver and kidney functions are okay, and he is negative for FIV and FeLV. We are hopeful that he will make a full recovery. Brady is now in a foster home, under the care of Craig Street Cats. If no owner comes forward, he will be neutered (once he has recovered from his wounds and gained enough weight), and be available for adoption. Anyone interested in adopting Brady (after the 14 day hold period is up), or making a donation toward his care, should contact Craig Street Cats.
