Oh yeah! Could hardly wait to share this today! Day 3s fav song. Ive always been a fan of Billy MacKenzie and The Associates (his musical partnership with Alan Rankine) from the early 80s when I felt compelled to obtain a copy of their album Sulk, which includes their singles Party Fears Two and Club Country, as well as other unique songs like Arrogance Gave Him Up, Bap de la Bap, Skipping and Its Better This Way. Im gonna share their rendition of Gloomy Sunday below cuz thats another fav song of mine. This song, The Rhythm Divine, however, was written by Billy MacKenzie for Shirley Bassey during the days when he worked with the German electro band Yello. Somehow, I only discovered this song about a year ago and fell in love with it. And not even MacKenzie himself, despite his amazing vocal range, could sing it like Bassey as he wrote it with her voice in mind. Such a gem of a song! Enjoy! youtu.be/F8V2vtdi2_c
