Foundation donates $100k to Red Cross June 28, 2013 | Filed under: The Fiji Red Cross Society is grateful for the donation the Vinod Patel Foundation made to it at the Vinod Patel Plaza in Laucala Beach yesterday. The foundation donated $100,000 specifically for the renovation and infrastructure of the Fiji Red Cross Society’s Ba branch. The society’s director-general, Filipe Nainoca, said they were overwhelmed with the generosity of the Vinod Patel Foundation and Vinod Patel family. “The society is grateful for this kind gesture.” “It shows how a business can partner with a volunteer organisation in helping maintain an infrastructure that would cater for the needy for a long time,” Mr Nainoca said. Meanwhile, Vinod Patel Group chairman and director, Vinod Patel, said they acknowledged the help that the Red Cross provides to the needy people in society. “The Fiji Red Cross is one of the first volunteer organisations to provide help on the ground when a disaster happens.” “This is a way of appreciating the help they provide and also a way for our foundation to give back to the people,” Mr Patel said.
