Four guaranteed ways to break barrenness and move into fruitfulness. Pastor Dunamis Tunde Okunowo (KHC) We saw the story of Zacharias and Elisabeth yesterday. They were priests, anointed, serving God, blameless and yet barren! Barrenness is never from God, it should be resisted and rejected. As Zacharias offered incense unto God, he received a visitation from God. According to the custom of the priests office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense (Luke 1:9-10 KJV) So we see the first key here. 1. Prayers Prayers will break barrenness! It was the same way Hannah broke barrenness over her life. She prayed. I am not talking here about some few minutes of prayers to pacify your soul. I am talking about sustained time of praying in the Spirit! Prayers will open the heavens over your life! When you look at your life, and everything seems not to be working, you take one step forward and another two steps backward, there is much labour without fruit, work like an elephant and eat like an ant…you’ve got to go into the place of prayers and generate some power over your destiny! You cannot just look on, you have to forcefully take what belongs to you in the place of prayer! Praying in the Spirit is particularly powerful because the Holy Spirit is praying through you. In order to have a time of quality prayer before God, you might need to create that time. Take your place in God and move the hand of God on your behalf. 2. Praise You remember Paul and Silas? They’ve been beaten black and blue and have been placed in an extremely guarded prison. There was no hope of escape! But the scriptures says something very powerful: And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. (Acts 16:25 KJV) They prayed…and they sang! This wasn’t some hidden, shy and timid praise, it was a loud praise because the scriptures says the prisoners heard them! In fact, the Message translation says that they offered a robust praise! Are you at a midnight moment, when it is neither day nor night, you are neither working nor resting, everything seems suspended, life becomes unexciting? You look at yourself, you don’t even know whether you are single or married? If you say you are single, what about the child? If you say you are married, where is the spouse? Listen to me, you can move the hand of God by Praise! Yes, when it doesn’t look like it, praise Him. When you feel like crying, sing instead! God will move on your behalf! Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord. (Isaiah 54:1 KJV) God says, sing O barren, not sing O mothers! In that state when you have every reason to cry, get depressed and slide into despondency, muster all energy within you and sing! Glory to God! 3. Prophetic Voice You have to learn to say the right things! You have to align your utterances with God’s promises over your life. You see, in the things of the spirit, your mouth is your might! You cannot join others to express fear! You cannot fear their fears! You cannot say confederacy to what they say confederacy to! Teach yourself to say what God has said about you! Refuse to verbalise negativity! 4. Planting of seed Your seed will break barrenness over and over again! No biological barrenness can be broken without a seed, a sperm from a man. No ground barrenness can be broken without an agricultural seed. The same way, no financial barrenness can be broken without a financial seed! Why is the sowing of seed so powerful? That is how God has ordained it! God so much want you to be a sower in order to prosper that He even promised to give seed to the sower! When a man eats his seed along with his bread, he will suffer in the future. Bread is for eating and seed is for sowing. Bread takes care of now, seed takes care of the tomorrow. Whenever you have some amount of money, you’ve got to know whether it is your seed or your harvest. Anytime God asks you to sow, there is fruitfulness that He has in mind. Whenever a voice asks you to sow and support Kisses and Huggs Club, don’t bother to bind that voice, it can’t be the devil, unless you want to bind God. The devil will never ask you to sow a seed into a ministry! Why? It advances the gospel and he doesn’t like that! He knows you will get harvest from your seed and he doesn’t want that! For example, when you sow into Kisses and Huggs Club, you enable us continue with this ministry via Internet outreaches, physical meetings and seminars and outreaches to the less privileged. That is a good ground that guarantees a harvest because your seed becomes a twice sown seed as we reach out to people out there! Your seed enables the work and it goes on while you are prospering. Isn’t that a good deal? God himself needed fruitfulness at a time. He had an only son, but He wanted sons! So what did God do? Jesus had to become the seed! The son of God became the son of man that sons of men might become sons of God! For God so loved the world that He gave…God had to give His seed, Jesus Christ, the incorruptible seed. You can break barrenness by your seed. You can break the backbone of poverty with a quality seed! Except a corn of wheat falls and dies, it abidteh alone! When your seed goes though dying and burying, it will surely resurrect. It is a divine law!
