Four killed and others injured in Thailand clashes At least four people were killed and 57 more injured as anti-government protestors clashed with supporters in Thailand at the weekend. Protestors invaded a police compound and forced the evacuation of the Thai prime minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, to a secret location. Gunfire started outside the sports stadium in Bangkoks Ramkamhaeng area, where Yingluck supporters had gathered after a week of anti-government protests. According to Erawan Emergency Center, at least four people were killed and 57 more are injured, reports the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Siam Center, Siam Discovery Siam Paragon and CentralWorld Shopping Complexes on Rama I Road as well as Major Cineplex on Ramkhamhaeng road were closed for one day yesterday but have reopened. TAT said volatile situations remain in the areas surrounding Government House and the Parliament and the Metropolitan Police Bureau. All 14 roads leading to the two locations are closed to traffic, and tourists are advised to avoid these areas. But it reiterated that political demonstrations in Bangkok are not targeting tourists and all visitor attractions in the capital, and the rest of the country, are operating normally, see previous story. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said that violence, including gunshots, was reported overnight on 30 November/1 December in the area of Ramkhamhaeng University in the Bang Kapi district of Bangkok. It said: You should avoid all protests, political gatherings and demonstrations.
