Like it or not - clearly not... the people of Ireland are being forced illegally and blindly into accepting a water contract that in fact if contested in court, Irish Water would lose - AND THEY KNOW IT. The Irish government know this also and this is why they are desperately trying to ensure that no person that refuses to pay so called water charges even gets to see the inside of a court room. If they do, the plaintiffs could rightly use the letter of Irish and international law to point out that under Law of Contract the Irish government is breaking many sections of long established and used business contract laws. There is no hedging about this. Contract law is VERY clear and defined - but we will come back to that soon in another article. The government and Irish Waters reluctance to see people actually get to court would directly explain why the Fine Gael and Labour government then initiated a plan though Irish Revenue (that rather than let people get to court and legally expose their illegal antics, money for their illegal bills) so they could take money from source of wages and/or welfare payments due to non-payment of their illegal contacts shoved down peoples throats. Attached below is a current legal letter that has been issued by an increasing number of people to Irish Water. It is in fact very legal, legitimate and defines exactly in law why what the government and Irish Water is doing, is actually breaking the law. The result of Irish Water is that they are now re-sending back (to sender) the letters as they have recognised that the letters hold substantial legal weight. If they were to accept them, they would be answerable in court to its contents. The matter continues and you will be updated. (You will find the PDF download link below the second page of the letter.) unitedpeopleireland.blogspot.ie/2014/06/irish-water-sending-back-legal-notices.html
