Four years ago I posted this photo lamenting the fact that this historical building has been severely neglected. Built in 1892, the old Angeles (Culiat) train station has seen the coming and going of the Spanish colonial army, the Philippine revolutionary army, the invading US cavalry, the Imperial Japanese Army, the USAFFE death march prisoners, Communist guerillas, etc. Earlier today, our mayor Cong Ed Pamintuan, his beloved wife Atching Herminia De Guzman- Pamintuan, the Museo Angeles, Kapampangan artists and cultural advocates of our dear city personally worked hand in hand to start restoring this important heritage site.
