Four years ago I stood in the ICU in front of an x-ray of my sons lungs as two doctors explained what I was looking at I heard severe pneumonia...all five lobes...breathing is severely compromised....accute respiratory distress syndrome...hes young...done all we can...keep him comfortable... I looked past the x-ray and the two doctors and the nurses around his bed to my son who was fighting for his life and I began praying please God do not take my son away from me then I heard the doctor say pray for a miracle and I mumbled I already am over the next nine days this doctor reminded me often that where medicine stopped God could take over. Even his doctors, nurses, and corpsmen were praying for him...a nurse hugged me and said there is a lot of faith around your son...God is with him. Even though I could barely touch Bo for all the tubes, wires, and machines God was holding him in his arms and then one day he handed him back to us. When experienced ICU doctors and nurses call it a miracle you know you have been blessed and in Bos first smile I made a promise never to forget to be thankful for Gods grace and miracles...there were so many during that awful time...so so many. Even in our deepest pain we were surrounded by the best....doctors, nurses, family, and friends...and God. Thank you again to all who were with us then and now. We couldnt have gotten through it without you. Some held our hands and prayed or stood quietly by Bos side, some brought food and necessities to the hospital, some took Mimi home for us, others helped tow Bos car, some just called each day to show they cared. God didnt just give us Bo he gave us all of you too. Thank you. Love and happy holidays to you all.
