France/ Anti-semitism with the far right, anti-Zionism with the far left: the president of CRIF Roger Cukierman invited Tuesday evening François Hollande to mobilize France against these two plagues by making some “a national cause”. “It is necessary to very early tackle the propagation of hatred”, explained Roger Cukierman during dining it annual on the Representative council of the Jewish institutions on France. “One is not born anti-semite, one becomes it, by silly thing, ignorance, or prejudice” “Make a national cause! ”, he beseeched François Hollande, while calling with a gathering, on March 19th in Paris, to commemorate the perpetrated assassinations two years ago in Toulouse by Mohamed Merah against six people, including three Jewish children. Expressing themselves in front of the Head of the State and 800 personalities, Mr. Cukierman held a dark speech, testifying to his concern with regard to the atmosphere of intolerance reigning in the country. Among the guests with the House of Armenonville to Paris, - who counted ministers, senators, deputies, ambassadors, mayors of Grand Paris, religious persons in charge, the president of CRIF accommodated Michel Antangana, French of Cameronian origin recently released after 18 years of internment in Cameroon. “I would have liked to evoke the +Heureux saying like a Jew in France+, declared Mr. Cukierman (...) I must unfortunately resort to Jewish humour, often squeaking. What an anti-semite? +C is somebody who hates the Jews more than nécessaire+”. “The unclean animal is, alas, well presents, today, in France”, the president of CRIF regretted, that the fall amongst anti-Jewish actions, in fall of 31% in 2013 according to the Protection service of Jewish community (SPCJ), hardly reassured. - “Risk to be attacked” - “I think with unhappiness, concern, with anguish, with the wretched slogans launched by a few thousands of individuals among the demonstrators of the Sunday, January 26 in Paris. They howled: +Juifs outside, France is not with you! +”. For Mr. Cukierman, who pointed out his past of hidden child and that of his family, “gassed and burned by Hitler and his accomplices”, “in Paris, in the subway, to carry a kippa, it is to take the chance to be attacked”. It evoked the spectacular progression of the National front with “its troop of anti-semites, Vichyist and Holocaust deniers taken refuge behind its leading, attentive not to make the odd one”. But he also denounced, with the extreme-left, “the anti-Zionism, new dress of the anti-semitism. Because if it is not suitable there to be anti-semite, it is elegant to fustigate the State of Israel”. In this respect, the president of CRIF was astonished that the calls to the boycotting in France target only one of the 200 countries of UNO. “I can quote you 50 countries whose borders are disputed by their neighbors in Africa, in the Middle East, or on the immense continent of Asia”. “Concerning Israel”, he continued, “of the positions extremists are sometimes allotted to CRIF. Wrongly (...) We aim at that the State of Israel lives in peace at the sides of a State of Palestine. We wish that Israel, where 20% of the population practise the French language, be finally allowed in the Organization of the Francophonie financed by the French taxpayer”. Mr. Cukierman also “suggested that France dissociates moreover world and recognizes Jerusalem like the capital of Israel” .AFP! liberation.fr/politiques/2014/03/04/cukierman-la-lutte-contre-l-antisemitisme-et-l-antisionisme-doit-etre-une-cause-nationale_984586
