Frankenstein Marshmallow Pops Ingredients: 12 large marshmallows 12 wooden skewers or lollipop sticks 1 cup green candy coating 1/2 cup brown or black candy coating Styrofoam block (optional but helpful) Preparation: 1. Place the green candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave it in 30-second intervals until melted and smooth. 2. Dip the tip of a wooden skewer or lollipop stick in the melted coating, and push it into the marshmallow until it is more than halfway inserted. The coating will help keep the stick from pulling out of the marshmallow. Repeat until all of the marshmallows are skewered on sticks. Refrigerate the marshmallows briefly to set the coating around the stick. 3. Once set, take a marshmallow and dip it completely in the melted green coating. If it helps, you can use a spoon to pour melted coating over the top of the marshmallow. Tap the stick vigorously against the side of the bowl so excess coating will drip back into the bowl. If you have a Styrofoam block, insert the stick into the block so your marshmallow pop can dry upright. Otherwise, set it down on a foil-covered baking sheet. Repeat until all of your marshmallows are covered with green coating. Refrigerate them so the coating sets completely, for about 10 minutes. 4. While the pops are chilling, melt the brown or black candy coating in the microwave. 5. Dip the very top of a marshmallow in the dark coating. Set it back in the Styrofoam block or on the covered baking sheet to set. 6. Once all of the tops have been dipped, pour the remaining melted dark coating into a paper cone or a plastic bag with a small hole cut in the corner. Pipe Frankenstein features on each pop: a forehead scar, eyes, a mouth, and neck bolts on the side. 7. Once all of the coating has set, your Frankenstein Pops are ready to be enjoyed! They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
