Fred was my sponsor into the Eagles and we had quite a few laughs in the few years I knew him. I had been back from Iraqi Freedom two years when I met him but he always made a point to tell other people I was in the military and it really made me feel appreciated. He loved our soldiers and always stood up for them when he had the chance and tried to make sure people who served were recognized for it. I also had a black friend who was in the military and whom I served with overseas and when others were acting racist one night towards my friend, Fred was the first to stand up for him and make sure he was recognized as a solider who made a sacrifice, and not for his skin color. Fred was funny, kind, and had a heart of gold. I know he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. RIP Fred Davis
