Free residential coaching centre for the conflict–affected students: The Discovery Club, an NGO of Kokrajhar inaugurated a residential coaching centre recently for the conflict–affected students who will appear in the HS and HSLC final examination this year and who are languishing in different relief camps. The coaching camp has been started at Monglajhora, Joypur HS School. The coaching centre was inaugurated by the vice–president of Discovery Club, Nava Kr. Basumatary by lighting of candle in a meeting held in the school premises. The meeting was chaired by Satyanath Tudu. The inaugural meeting was also attended by president of Kokrajhar district committee, ABSU Premjit Narzary, president of Kokrajhar district All Santhali Students’ Union (ASSU), Janathan Murmu, secretary Paresh Tudu, secretary of Discovery Club, Hariswar Brahma and Sandip Basfore, Assistant Teacher of the centre. The Discovery Club set a target to accommodate about 200 conflict–affected students from both Kokrajhar and Chirang districts. Free coaching will be given at the centre from January 18 to March 10 for the students who are appearing in the HS and HSLC final examinations. The centre has been started with the objective of providing a better environment for the conflict–affected students to prepare for their examination. The students will also be given personality development training and career guidance. The Discovery Club is also planning to impart job oriented vocational training to the students and unemployed youths.
