#FreeMoazzam We live in a time where there is much hostility and enmity towards Islam and the Muslims. It would seem that not a single day passes by except that Islam is attacked, mocked and ridiculed by the media, the political leaders and even the laymen on the street. It appears that there is a free-for-all to the extent the kuffar even compete amongst themselves to see who launches the greater attack. We have witnessed the desecration of the Quran. We have witnessed repeated attempts under the guise of freedom to insult and draw spiteful pictures of the Prophet (Saws). The honour of our women is not even sanctified anymore with the banning of the niqab in certain countries, and proscription of Muslim groups for calling for Shariah. Some Muslims upon seeing this reality decide to distance themselves from the contemporary affairs of Islam, with the hope that one day the attack will subside. As Muslims, who follow the Messenger (saws) and his Companions we must recognise that most societies have been aggressive towards Islam, whether that be the early or latter periods of the Islamic history. Blessed are those who stand up for Islam and do not give in to the pressure of society but rather continue to side with Islam and the Muslims through these turbulent times. Umar bin Khattab once said “In the later years, the Ummah will be subjected to oppression by those in power. Nonetheless, deliverance is for those who struggle in Allah’s cause. Allah’s grace and all the bounties of the world and of the Hereafter would be bestowed on such people. Next to them are those who bear witness to the religion of Islam in both their private and public lives...” [Mishkaat ul Masabih] As Muslims we must stand for Islam by commanding the good and forbidding the evil in all circumstances. Represent and propagate the true Islam which the Prophet (saws) conveyed, allowing no room for deviancy or innovation. We should not fear isolation or exile. The Messenger Muhammad said: “Each one of you is at the frontier of Islam, have Taqwa of Allah and do not let Islam be attacked from your direction.” [Abu Dawud] Article taken from: muslimprisoners
