Freeda J. Mish, 90, of Kangley passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Private family burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery at a later date. Born August 12, 1923 in Lizemore, West Virginia, she was the daughter of John and Clara (Fox) Legg. She married Joseph J. Mish on June 6, 1941. He passed away July 1, 2013. She is survived by daughters, Phyllis (William) Durdan of Grand Ridge and Brenda Corcoran of Bloomington; a son, Joseph Mish of Streator; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret (Clarence) Robertson of Fayetteville, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Helen Potter, Mary Hayes and Kathleen Smith; brothers, Herman and James Legg. Born and raised in West Virginia, she moved to the Streator area in 1945. She and her husband moved to Covina, California from 1969-1977. They returned to Kangley in 1977. She managed the Streator Country Club and retired from the Elk’s in 1983. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Andrew and William Durdan; Amy Thomas and Eric Corcoran; and great-grandchildren, Nolan and Maggie Durdan; Ashlyn, Emma and Jake Thomas; Dalton and Ashley Corcoran. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
