‘Freedom to be here’: Community takes to the field in a powerful display of public prayer. That was the scene Friday when hundreds of students, players and community members locked hands and closed their eyes before saying the Lord’s Prayer en masse at Ledford High School in Thomasville, N.C. According to local Fox affiliate WGHP, the demonstration was a response to the Davidson County Schools’ decision that using the PA system for a public prayer violated the separation of church and state. 1st Amendment - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. 10th Amendment - The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. When you read the 1st Amendment, you will see that the words Separation of Church and State are not there. This term came from the mouth of liberal Judges, who in their own opinion, wanted to change the interpretation of the Constitution. What the 1st Amendment says is that Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. There is no reference to any school district, city government, or State government. The 10th Amendment is very clear. Any powers not delegated to the United States, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. What this means is, there is no such thing as a prayer at a high school football game being unconstitutional, because the Constitution does not prevent this from happening. It is up to the people who reside in that area to decide whether the high school can, or can not have prayers before events like football games. Everyone in this country should understand this important fact. It is the people who tells the government what the Constitution says. It is not the government that tells us what it says. The proof that this is an absolute true fact is written in the Declaration of Independence. It says, That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Our Founding Fathers included the Judicial Branch in this statement. The Supreme Court Justices do not have, and never have had, the power or authority to change the Constitutions original interpretation. Their true powers are that they ensure the true interpretation is applied correctly in all cases that come before them. When they do not, the people are then required to demand that their elected Representative in the House and Senate, Impeach and remove those Justices who overstep their true authority. This is why the Founding Fathers made the Legislative Branch the most powerful of the three Branches. This is the only Branch given the power to Impeach and remove members of the other two Branches. If we the people want to stop this kind of unconstitutional action from happening, then we need to elect people to the Legislative Branch that will have the guts to take action when the members of the other two Branches go beyond their Constitutional powers and authority. It is time we re-educate ourselves as to what the Constitution really says, instead of what the elected, power hungry egomaniacs are telling us it says. The Founding Fathers wrote both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution is plain and simple language, just so the people would understand what it says, and be able to keep their government reined in. Put the I-Phones down and read these documents and learn what is really in them.
