A brief glance at his history as a DJ and a producer will give you an idea of the sheer enormity of his knowledge of disco and the record collection that comes with it - not to mention his acute understanding of how to really rouse a dance-floor. His career saw him going from cutting up samples to recording a 26 piece band and orchestra for his seminal Better Days double album with the Million Dollar Orchestra: a step few producers have the flair to take, but one Al did with aplomb. Al is a true legend and pioneer. For disco music, its extremely unlikely youll catch a better set anywhere in the world.
