Friday 23rd August Koala Room Update: Outside the children walked and crawled around exploring the outdoor environment. Bronte once again enjoyed the prams and bikes while Zoe found the glitter ball intriguing as she rolled it around between her legs and back and forth with Bobbi. Aniva and Gemma interacted with each other at the table on the bark chip scooping the chips onto plated and books. Toby is becoming increasingly confident outside crawling between the bigger children and climbing in, on and around the toys. Possum Room Update: We enjoyed exploring the natural environment this morning. Brodie ventured behind the shed and squeezed through the gap between tree trunks many times, laughing and self-talking as he continues to do this. He also looked through the branches playing peek-a-boo with Chonny. Teddy and Chloe explore spaces as they lean down into the climbing frame, laughing as they look upside down and then they carefully pull themselves back up. Bilby Room Update: Today in the Bilby’s room educators planned learning environments with appropriate levels of challenge where the children were encouraged to explore experiment and take appropriate risks in their learning as Shanay and Anwen both manipulate the small tongs to pick up the teddy bears and categories them in their same colours. Today educators embedded sustainability in daily routines and practices as the children used a small amount of water and soap in a bucket with scourers and helped in cleaning our chairs. They all did such a great job. Platypus Room Update: During the mornings play the children had the choice of several different activities, these were painting, glueing and once again to help develop those scissor skills, cutting. From there the children then participated in a group of identifying their name. Through their name cards the children were able to recognise their names, in order to then transition off to the bathroom for morning fruit. Kangaroo Room Update: This morning we decided to walk over to the oval and play a variety of games. When we first got there we all went for a run to the other side of the oval to warm up our bodies. We then split up into three groups and played different ball games. In Jenna’s group the children learnt how to play tunnel ball. They enjoyed rolling the ball through the tunnel that they had made with their legs. Shaleisha played a catching with her group and Cam got the children to stand in a big circle and quickly kick the ball to whoever’s name was said. As the children progressed through this game, more balls were added to make the game more challenging. Emu Room Update: Continuing with the interest in construction Tony got the children to help with the setup of a new climbing and swing/sliding frame. The children all worked to carry the pieces of the frame all the way to the woodchip area where they then helped to and watched it as it was constructed. Spring is almost here and to celebrate this children have been helping make a cardboard tree. Today the children finished making cherry blossoms out of tissue paper and glued them and some leaves to the tree.
