Friday 25th October.-Mike Phillips An Alternative Cosmology. Bredhurst Village Hall This talk will challenge the currently accepted theories of the Big Bang and expansion of the universe. This will be a thought provoking, non-mathematical presentation of alternative theories that could explain a totally different universe to the one we all ‘see’ at present. The presentation contains up to date alternative explanations for what scientists claim to be the state of the current universe. Have your say on which theory you support. This talk is very suited to beginners but will also have enough to interest everyone. Prior to Mike’s presentation we will be holding the first of a new series called FUNdamentals (8:00pm – 8:20pm). These talks will replace the Beginners Group and will aim to retain the easy to understand, non-mathematical, basic concepts approach but try to present things in a more interactive, fun way. The first one is entitled “Modern Cosmology – The Truth?” and is specifically aimed at setting out some of the basic concepts of modern day cosmology and why we think that the universe is structured the way it is. This is a primer to Mike’s talk and will be presented by our chairman, Ian Hargraves. Please arrive at Bredhurst at 7:45 for a start at 8:00. We hope to see you there!
