Friday Daily Devotion Humbled to Be in God’s Presence If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 To be in God’s presence is to bask in his Glory. To lay everything at his feet and to pour out self, bringing flesh under subjection is a key factor to receiving from God. Humbling yourself under the mighty hand of God will bring you to a place of submission. The word of God reveals in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land. This scripture reveals our posture our position and our persistence. We should always come humbly before God when we pray. When we pray we are acknowledging that we need God to order our steps and to guide us in all we do. Our posture is humility. Humility is the state or quality of being humble. The Word of God Reveals in James chapter 4 verse 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. When we come before the Lord we need to be modest and conscious of our short comings. When we acknowledge who we are and our need of our relationship with Jesus he can ultimately work in our lives because we recognize that we are weak before the Lord. God is the Potter and we are the clay. We need to remain in the potter’s hand to be molded and shaped in His image. Humility prepares us for positioning. Our position is prayer whether we are on our knees, lying prostrate or before the Lord we ought to communicate with Jesus. Prayer is repentance, thanksgiving, petitions, worship and supplication we bring before God. As we pray we are seeking God’s face we must learn how to come before him. We ought to prepare our self to meet the King our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we pray our hearts are turned towards our maker. Although we have access to the throne of grace we must be careful not to take our prayer time for granted. Before we ask God for anything we must first worship God this is where we are welcoming God’s presence as we are ushered into God’s presence we can then repent of any sins we committed or any deeds that was not pleasing to him. We must be purged and cleansed from our flesh. This is why there needs to be true repentance before we can receive anything from God. We need to constantly pour out ourselves. Rid ourselves from the cares of this world and steal away to receive from Jesus in our prayer time .We ought to be persistent in seeking God’s face. Let us all learn how to communicate with our Heavenly Father every day. Let us pray for one another and believe that our prayers are already answered. Prayer reveals our inner thoughts and concerns. Prayer is revealing secrets and opening our hearts to our Creator. Prayer is also waiting to hear from God. If we haven’t heard from God then we really didn’t pray. Let us remember Prayer is a two way conversation. Dont forget to pray today. If you confess the Lord call him up! God is waiting to hear from you and respond.
