Friday I will be getting to see some buffalo, up close and hopefully extremely personal. Anyone who has ever looked over the list of things I intend to work my way through before it all ends should know exactly why I am getting to meet some buffalo. If all goes as I would love them to there will hopefully some cool pictures. If all goes south and the warning people have been pointing at ever since I first brought this up...well, its been fun. Very rarely in life are we presented with the opportunity to do something so far outside of the norm parameters of our lives, so rarely are those moments when something we truly want finds itself just falling in place perfectly......I have for many years now wanted to share a moment in time and space with my forehead resting upon the forehead of a buffalo. There is something in the quiet power that resides in these creatures that appeals to me in a way that is primal and defies the logic behind this driving need. I am fully aware that if he spooks he can crush me before Id ever get a chance to get away....I dont care. The last time I truly saw a buffalo was in Chicago, in a zoo. It was raining, I could have stood there all day, just watching them, soaking in their quiet wisdom, their strength. They are far more than just bigger hairier cows folks, lol....they really are. To say Friday should be interesting is an understatement.
