Friday, July 19 Live vigilantly Many of us are neat in appearance but a little on the sloppy side when it comes to discipleship. We say our prayers in jerks of seasonal attentiveness. We love our neighbor when it’s easy to do so, and we’re generous when it doesn’t hurt to be. We forgive if the offense doesn’t go too deeply. We are just when the cause is popular. The story of the Jewish Passover reminds us that a certain vigilance is required of people who embrace their freedom as the children of God. We have to be dressed and ready to respond whenever the signal is given. How prepared are you today to take on the call when it comes?
