Friday Morning Prayer, July 18, 2014 Isaiah 42: 2-4 He will not - TopicsExpress

Friday Morning Prayer, July 18, 2014 Isaiah 42: 2-4 He will not cry or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; 3 a bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. 4 He will not grow faint or be crushed until he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his teaching. This week I am relearning the basis of modern western society is dominance and the will to power. But the basis of our faith should be the willingness of Jesus to remain faithful to God even to the cross. If someone were to truly live a life of and in God’s shalom, the world would find it necessary to kill that person. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. But what a price to pay for that blessing. Suffering God: In solidarity with your beloved creation, you took its suffering upon yourself and experienced it along with all things. Thanks seem so weak in the magnitude of this story and this suffering. Help us to better reflect our gratitude for your grace in all we say and do. Amen
