Friday Night Live Summer of Love: HippieFest tonight, Aug 1st, 6pm to 9pm in Downtown Woodstock Presented by the Bank of North Georgia Spend the first Friday of every month in Downtown Woodstock and enjoy the many restaurants and stores that the area has to offer as the Downtown Merchants stay open late, 6pm-9pm, and celebrate with a themed downtown wide festival For each Friday Night Live theme participating Downtown Merchants will have activities going on at their stores and throughout the Downtown area related to the theme of the month. August 1st- Summer of Love: HippieFest No pond bathing here, but we can promise a summer-lovin’ time. Break out the tie-dyes & head bands for a little early autumn fun as the history of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival is celebrated! Peace, Love, and Rock & Roll. Summer of Love will feature a Hippie Costume Contest The event will feature a hippie costume contest. The winner will receive a $100 downtown gift certificate. To enter the contest the person or group just has to stop by the Woodstock Visitors Center during the event to have their picture taken. $100 Downtown Gift Certificate Giveaway. Every $10 you spend at a Downtown business during Friday Night Live can enter you into a drawing for a $100 Downtown Dollars Gift Certificate. Just bring your receipt for any purchase made at a Downtown business during the event to the Woodstock Visitors Center to enter the contest. For example if your spend $50 you will be entered 5 times into the drawing Live music will be featured on the sidewalks in Downtown Woodstock Live music in front of Seven Arrows Live music in front of Cupcakelicious Jason Connelly Band will be performing 7pm to 10pm at Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza and Grill Douglas Cameron will be singing in front of Maxwells Cigar Bar. and Hippie attire will earn you a 10% discount on your entire purchase at Maxwells. Reid Stevens will be performing at Copper Coin Coffee 8pm to 10pm Seven Arrows will offer 10% off purchase to anyone wearing hippie attire. Will also have refreshments Blue Frogs tie dye t-shirts will be on sale 20% off.- Blue Frog will also have artists set up in front of the store Leaning Ladder will feature a wine tasting from 6pm to 9pm Dive Georgia will have a face painter at the store. Great chance to get a peace sign from the face painter in the spirit of the event. Local author Beth Hermes will have a book signing at Foxtale Books at 6:30pm Georgia All Star Gymnastics is offering a chance for parents to drop their kids off at their gym while they go enjoy Friday Night Live. While you enjoy Friday Night Live your kids will have a blast at the gym playing in the foam pit, jumping on trampolines and watching a movie on the big screen. 6pm to 11pm, $25 for one, $40 for two, $45 for the family.
