Friday, November 14th inspired by ... Lori Bryant Yes I Can “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 I noticed her as I was speaking. She was absolutely beautiful and she radiated beauty from the inside, too. I kept looking at her as I taught. That afternoon I was teaching on one of my favorite subjects. 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” I love to share my testimony of Gods great grace resting on my dyslexia and empowering me to write stories and poetry! At the end of the session I was ministering in the back of the room and signing books when she approached me. Slowly she started to share her story with great effort and emotion. She explained the pain of a severe speech impairment and the belief that she was called to teach and preach. “Why would God put these messages in my heart along with this desire to preach when I cant speak?” I felt the pain as I thought of the humiliation of my own life in the areas of writing and spelling. God quickly reminded that He is creative and with Him we are limitless. I always thought that if He wanted me to write then He was going to have to heal me. He simply said to me, “Write in your weakness and I will open doors for you to walk through.” Another thought came to me ... I want to write and I do more speaking than writing. You want to speak ... maybe you should preach with your hand! The word that I heard for her was, ‘in the meantime’. “If healing isnt here yet what will you do in the meantime?” I got word from my beautiful new friend. “Lori your words and prayers freed me!” she went on. “I am writing and preaching with my hand! In the meantime, until God chooses to heal me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Prayer: God, let us remember that You are a great and creative God. You are good and Your ways are not my ways. Help me to believe that I can do all thing by the power of Your Spirit! Amen.
