Friday night Vickie and I visited Café Orchid Turkish restaurant - TopicsExpress

Friday night Vickie and I visited Café Orchid Turkish restaurant (1746 W Addison St). Orchid provides modest accommodations and the staff is friendly and helpful in offering great recommendations on appetizers and entrées. The hummus was excellent and was served with Orchids home made lavash bread. The menu offers a nice selection of vegetarian options. I ordered the Green Been entrée that included fresh greens beans sautéed with onion, tomato, carrot, garlic, dill, olive oil & lemon juice served with bulgur. Vickie chose the Veggie Manti which consisted of homemade dough stuffed with spinach, onion, cumin, olive oil, lemon juice and served with the house salad. Portions were most generous, as a matter of fact Vickie and I could have split either entrée and still had leftovers. If we would have had room for desert, our server recommended the Baklava. I plan on returning to Café Orchid and trying the rest of the veggie selection on the menu.
