Friday was Le Louvre. What an incredible building and collection! We worked out way through various rooms and found the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Of course we appreciated many other paintings and sculptures on the way. And we probably saw 1% of what is held in collection. The mind becomes numb after a while with the sights of the rooms, and what is in the rooms. Overall a very good day, till someone picked my wallet. That was a bit frustrating, but I accepted the event, and went on with the day. Linda prayed fervently for a positive resolution to the event - return, no ID theft, etc. And she also went on with the day. An hour later I got a call from the Louvre, and my wallet had been found and turned in. Nothing missing. Praise the Lord. After Le Louvre, we walked down to the Latin Quarter - very busy with shops and restaurants. We managed to find a table at one of the very busy restaurants and had another excellent meal. I have been enjoying the Duck, as it is readily available, and reasonably priced. Then we headed for the hotel, planning to take the Metro. We turned down one corner, missed the station by 30 feet, and spent the next 45 minutes wandering the area trying to find it with a less than efficient map. Finally a group of young people point us in the right direction, and we were back on our way. The end of an event filled day!
