**Fridays food for thought** I want to talk about CHALLENGES, - TopicsExpress

**Fridays food for thought** I want to talk about CHALLENGES, MINDSET TRAINING, and building up your LIFE TEAM. All three of those topics are covered in the attached video. CHALLENGES: They are ways that you test yourself, ways of keeping yourself in check. They could range from saying I will take the stairs at work, eat cleaner for a week, get an A on your next test, save more money this month, run another mile, improve your max on a particular workout, be a better uncle, aunt, father, mother, brother, or sister....whatever it may be, a challenge is a contract you make with yourself. One that needs to be honored no matter what! Whether you fall flat on your face, bomb that test, or struggle with that max set, at least you went all in and bet big on yourself. A challenge is something, where no matter how small or how big, you should feel accomplishment in completing it.....believe me, sounds like it is not a big deal, but I am telling you that in the bigger picture it adds up! MINDSET TRAINING: Have that mental battle in your brain, where one half of it questions if you can do something, and the other half is telling you Hell yeah you can! Push yourself to that point where quitting feels like the best option, and then at the last moment you say Nah.....not today! Run that extra mile, study for that extra 30 minutes, take in those last few minutes with the kids each night even if you had a day from hell and are just getting home. Whatever it is, everything starts and ends with you, ultimately the decision is yours. LIFE TEAM: Surround yourself with people that help keep the two above areas in check. What I mean by that, they are your support team, fan club, however you look at them, they are there to help you be your best and block bullshit out of your life! They can be friends, family, significant others, or even strangers that you happen to meet all of a sudden. These people are your biggest fans, and a source of your motivation. Now for the video...... This took place this past summer. The only reason it is being posted is to symbolize the above posted text. The content of the video is the outcome of three Marines shootin the shit at my brothers gun shop. One thing led to another, a Marine challenged another Marine (myself), the challenge was accepted and then the rest was all she wrote. This challenge consisted of getting sprayed with Mace(OC spray), hit with a stun gun, and then go on a 3 mile log run. What can I say, I was bored......but more importantly, I was also wanting a challenge that would take me to that mental battle within myself. Well sometimes be careful what you wish for. Not even 2 minutes in, and I got to that quit/dont quit choice real quick! I was so close to quitting, I would be lying to say that I didnt think about doing so more than once. There were a few things that got me through......listening to Tools Vicarious on repeat, going all in on myself and wanting to accomplish the challenge....but more importantly, I had a good team with me. Brent Schaeffer & Josh Frazier both chose to run with me, and thank god they were there! I appreciate it brothers! So with all that being said.....in whatever you do, stay true to yourself, believe in yourself, challenge yourself......get those mental reps in, no matter how big or small......and surround yourself with people that help you in your life! Enjoy the weekend! ~ All it takes, is all you got ~ #LegionOfBoom #1stphorm4life #neversettle #1stphorm
