Fridays opening practice session for the United States Grand Prix has been delayed by race control, with heavy fog forming over the Circuit of The Americas. The Formula 1 paddock was greeted with a thick mist earlier this morning and, with it failing to clear up in time, the medical helicopter has not yet been cleared for take-off. Having assessed the situation, officials initially issued a 10-minute delay. This has since been extended by a further 10 minutes, meaning FP1 is set to begin at 9.20am local time (GMT -6).
