Friends, Im leaving for Tokyo/Chiba, Japan next Tuesday morning - TopicsExpress

Friends, Im leaving for Tokyo/Chiba, Japan next Tuesday morning for our Kiwanis International 99th Annual Convention and am so looking forward to it. As some of you know, or maybe most of you dont know, I was born in Tokyo, my father was military assigned there at the time (1953). I was born on the back seat of a taxi cab from the US Military base going to the hospital (Tokyo General) and he delivered me on the way. Im 61 now. In appreciation of this all, and my wanting to revisit, my loving, but sometimes silly and so enlightening brother-in-law says maybe the taxi driver may have just been 18 or so at the time, may remember it and be alive at 89 years of age now. I dont know. Maybe my fellow Japanese Kiwanians will explore this for me. If you so, I appreciate it. I so would love to meet this person. Yes, in my visiting this time, for the first time since, it would dear to me to find the place of my birth on the highway between the military base and the hospital and meet the taxi cab driver if he is still alive. Wouldnt that be something! However, I am so just looking forward to spending and enjoying time with my fellow Kiwanians around the world. It will be so much fun seeing you all! I so love Kiwanis and all the wonderful people who serve in it around the world. I truly wish all my friends were Kiwanians. It is so much fun serving in Kiwanis and enjoying our fellowship of serving the children and all of our world, which we do. r
