Friends, Im taking my bar in a new direction after numerous, lengthy discussions with Brian, who is, after all, the man with the money. We have struggled since February to make The Hideaway a diverse, community bar and targeted the blue-collar constituency that comprises the Firestone Park neighborhood. We have tried Northeast Ohios best bands, cover-free, practically given away food and beverages and, still, our guest count doesnt improve. Weve tried trivia, pool nights, karaoke, you name it. We have not been successful. While the community has provided us with some support, it has not been enough. There are weeks when we dont even make payroll. Having now overshared, I am looking for some part-time, temporary bartenders. Let me be totally honest. Im looking for attractive gay men who are cordial and able to develop a following. That said, having been on the bad end of employer discrimination, I will not discriminate in hiring. If you are able to work a predominantly gay, male crowd successfully, please get in touch with me for an interview.
