Friends, This is to share the sad news of demise of M T Khan saab today morning. Khan saab is a well-known and highly respected personality in left, democratic and secular circles in Hyderabad, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Born in 1935, he became a communist during Telangana Armed Struggle. He was a student and close associate of Maqdoom Mohiuddin. He sailed with CPI and CPI (M) before responding to the Naxalbari spring thunder in the late 1960s. He was part of Virasam (Revolutionary Writers Association) from the beginning and was printer and publisher of Pilupu, fortnightly launched by Kondapalli Seetaramaiah in 1972, as part of revival of Naxalbari - Srikakulam spirit. Khan saab was thus implicated in Secunderabad Conspiracy case and spent more than a year in jail. Later he was imprisoned for the entire Emergency period. Post-Emergency, he became active in Hyderabad Book Trust as well as AP Civil Liberties Committee and was president of APCLC for a couple of years. He worked as a journalist both in Urdu and English... He breathed his last today morning at his ancestral home just across Purana Pool and funeral is scheduled in the evening....
