Friends and family, I have an important request to make. Most of you know I work in retail. Staples, to be exact. And Im sure everyone is familiar with Black Friday. Now, I have lots to say on that- the whole One day were grateful for all we have, the next we turn greedy and buy everything as cheaply as possible, but thats not what this post is about. I request that you, dear friends and family, either wait until day to actually start shopping for Black Friday, or just avoid it altogether. Because of this consumer holiday, a lot of us in retail either dont get a Thanksgiving at all, or have our holiday cut short. I am fortunate to have Thanksgiving off, but I do have to work early Black Friday... or get fired. I dont feel this ultimatum is very fair, but what can I do, but extend this heartfelt plea to you. Please, help there be one less person pushing, shoving, fighting, and attacking for the newest computer or TV or gaming console. Help retail workers get Thanksgivings back. Thank you.
