Friends in NOLA and around the world, As you may have heard, tomorrow is a big day here as, per the NOLA article, a growing public rift over proposed changes to New Orleans noise ordinance, which could affect how loud live music is performed across the city, is set to come to a head Friday (Jan. 17), when the City Councils Housing and Human Needs Committee discusses the issue in a special meeting. Hundreds of people are expected to turn out for the noon session to debate the issue. If youre here in New Orleans and want to protest this ridiculous New Orleans noise ordinance (which will hurt the future of music events and culture here), youre asked to attend this rally Friday morning: https://facebook/events/566830150060876/ If you CANT attend the rally or City Council hearing, Ill be hosting an uptown viewing of the 12:00 noon meeting at Gasa Gasa, 4920 Freret St. All are welcome to attend. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. If you are downtown, there will also be a viewing at Cafe Istanbul in the New Orleans Healing Center, and Mid-City folks can attend the viewing at Banks Street Bar & Grill.
